The Elmira College admission staff views our partnership with guidance and college counselors as one of our most important relationships in our mission to serve students.
Searching for the "right fit" college is difficult and confusing for many families with schools either providing too little information or burying families in far too much detail. We want to strike the right balance so here we share the basics of the Elmira College experience. If you would like to talk in greater detail about what makes Elmira College one of the finest small liberal arts colleges in America, please contact us. We also invite you to visit us. We are located in Elmira, New York, and are the perfect location to begin your journey through the Finger Lakes Region, one of New York State's finest wine-making areas.
We welcome you at any time but extend a special invitation to join us for one of our Prospective Student Open House Programs. Please call us at (800) 935-6472 and we will make all of the arrangements.
The Elmira College Key Award, sponsored by the Elmira College Alumni Association, has been awarded to outstanding students since 1935. We seek the opinions of those who know their students best. An award of merit, the Key Award is presented to students in their junior year of high school or preparatory school based on high school counselor recommendations.
The right culture for success…
Elmira College’s small size is one of its many strengths. With a student-faculty ratio of 9:1, faculty truly get to know their students and become invested in their success. Between the high degree of contact between faculty and students and the fact that 100% of our students participate in a career-oriented internship, employers and graduate schools know that our graduates have explored their career interests in depth and with professional supervision. That combination helps produce a student success rate of 98% in terms of Elmira graduates being enrolled in graduate programs or employed intheirchosen fields within six months of graduation.
